The Yosemite Climbing Association (YCA) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving Yosemite’s rich climbing history, fostering a strong community of stewardship, and advocating for sustainable climbing practices. Through education, conservation, and advocacy, we ensure that Yosemite remains a world-class climbing destination for generations to come.

Your donation helps fund cleanup supplies, volunteer support, educational programs, and the logistics that make Facelift possible. Every dollar goes directly toward protecting Yosemite and supporting this community led effort.

The National Park Service requires all participants to watch this archeological resource video prior to completing your registration.
Federal and state laws protect cultural resources.

How can you help protect cultural resources?

  • Tread carefully: Cultural sites are fragile—avoid walking or camping on them.

  • Look, don’t touch: If you find something that looks old, leave it in place and report it. Record the location and take a picture to share with Rangers.

  • Learn with the experts: NPS archaeologists will be at Facelift to help us learn the difference between trash and historical artifacts. You are required to do a short orientation at Facelift with NPS archeologists.
